Uniform

Forthcoming uniform rule change

From September 2026, we will start tightening up our uniform expectations across all the clubs.

We are proud of our students and we want our classes to look smart, disciplined and recognisably Taekwondo.  From September, coloured belt students should wear TAGB or Club uniform for normal classes.

For trousers, this means:

  • TAGB Dobok trousers;

  • TAGB TKD training trousers; or

  • Club training trousers.

For tops, this means:

  • TAGB Dobok jacket; or

  • Tiger or Club uniform T-shirt; or

  • Plain white T shirt (no logo/writing).

Club uniform T-shirts are currently available for Cadets, ie aged 10 and over.

Black belts may wear any suitable Taekwondo T-shirt with dobok, TKD or Club training trousers.

In hot weather, students may wear suitable shorts.  Plain black shorts are preferred, but white, purple or green shorts are also acceptable.  These should not be overly tight nor overly loose.

The monthly sparring class will remain more flexible. Students may wear any loose, comfortable sportswear suitable for sparring.

This is the first step towards making our club uniform more consistent in the future.  We are not trying to make things difficult or expensive for families, but we do want to raise standards and encourage students to take pride in how they present themselves for training.

New beginners do not need to buy or wear Taekwondo uniform straight away. Beginners may train in suitable loose, comfortable sportswear until they take their first grading.

After their first grading, new coloured belt students should wear dobok trousers for normal classes, or in hot weather they may wear shorts as set out above. Students aged 10 or over may alternatively wear Club uniform trousers.

For students joining from now onwards, TKD training trousers will not be part of the standard class uniform after their first grading.  New coloured belt students should wear dobok trousers, or in hot weather they may wear shorts as set out above. Students aged 10 or over may alternatively wear club uniform trousers.

Existing students may continue to wear dobok trousers, TKD training trousers, or club trousers during the transition period.

Thank you for your support.

Tiger Uniform

Both Tigers and Tiger Cubs wear the black and yellow Tiger suits.  These are practical for children and tend to wash well.

Tiger T shirt

Many students prefer to wear the Tiger T-shirt top in class.

Please note you cannot wear T-shirts for gradings or competitions.

Tigers

Tigers can wear these doboks for class and from 18th Feb 2026, for all gradings and competitions.

There is also a white TAGB suit, although being white this is less popular with the children!  This can be worn at all competitions and gradings.

White dobok

Cadets and adults can also wear the purple or green uniforms, or continue to wear their existing white or Tiger suits.

Sparring Gear

We start sparring at Green Tag level.  Students can borrow equipment if we have some in their size, until they are sure they want to purchase a set for themselves.  Students will need sparring gear from blue belt for gradings.

You are welcome to purchase gear second hand, make sure it is TAGB and that it does not have any rips, tears or repairs on, or you won't be able to use it in competition or at gradings.

It's important to put your gear on in the right order.

Here Mr Robson walks you through the best order to use.

The foot guards are perhap the most tricky to put on. Here Mr Robson shows you how to put these on correctly.

Order here

We carry a lot of uniform in stock, so you can just ask us in class if you want anything.  However, you can also order it here so we make sure we don't forget anyone!

Club Doboks

Special Limited Edition doboks are now available.  These are like the existing club trousers, but the trim is shiny and the print is a bit larger, with the club logo on the side too.  You can have them say Banbury, Daventry or Woodford Halse.  They cost £32 per dobok - only available as full doboks, no mix and match sizing.  Only for Cadets and older.

This is a one off order, once they are gone they are gone.

Club Uniform

Cadets, i.e. those aged 10 and over, and adults have the option of having the bespoke green or purple uniforms.  However, please note you are not allowed to wear club uniform at gradings nor most competitions.

Club T shirts are made to order, and we have to have several orders before we can get any made, so there may well be a wait for these should you want some.

Club T-shirts

Club T-shirts are green for men, purple for ladies.  They are made of special sports type stretchy material which 'breathes'.  Each club has its own name on the front and back.  Matching hoodies and zoodies are also available.

Female students have the same logo design and layout, but they are purple.  They are also more fitted than the male T shirts.

TAGB Catalogue

There's a huge range of other T shirts, trousers, books, bags and other equipment you can get through the TAGB.  Anything you see at a competition can be ordered from us directly - and usually for less.  Here's a new flip book with a selection of items that are available.  Please note you do not need to buy any equipment or clothing other than what you need for your gradings: a TAGB dobok and, above blue belt, sparring gear.
