British Championships 2026 - Divisions

Please read carefully as some have changed

Age divisions

Junior coloured belts: up to and including 15.

Junior black belts: up to and including 14.

Cadet black belts: 15-17 inclusive.

Adult coloured belts: 16 and over.

Adult black belts: 18 and over.

Executive black belts: 40 and over.

Executives may enter as adults, but must then enter all events as adults.

Entry and weigh-in reminders

Competitors: arrive by 9am. Officials: arrive by 8.30am.

Adult, cadet and executive black belt weigh-in closes at 10.30am.

Weigh in wearing dobok top and bottoms; 1kg tolerance for the dobok.

Team events: £18 per three-person team, entered and paid on the day.

JUNIOR SPARRING Tiny Tots: up to 122cm. Tiny Tots are available in Yellow and Green divisions only. Pee Wee: over 122cm up to and including 137cm. Lightweight: over 137cm up to and including 152cm. Middleweight: over 152cm up to and including 168cm. Heavyweight: over 168cm. Coloured belts: point stop. Black belts: continuous.

CADET FEMALE BLACK BELTS Lightweight: up to 55kg. Middleweight: over 55kg up to and including 60kg. Light Heavy: over 60kg up to and including 65kg. Heavyweight: over 65kg. Continuous sparring.

CADET MALE BLACK BELTS Lightweight: up to 60kg. Middleweight: over 60kg up to and including 70kg. Light Heavy: over 70kg up to and including 80kg. Heavyweight: over 80kg. Continuous sparring.

ADULT FEMALE COLOURED BELTS Lightweight: up to 55kg. Middleweight: over 55kg up to and including 61kg. Light Heavy: over 61kg up to and including 67kg. Heavyweight: over 67kg. Yellow and Green divisions: point stop. Blue and Red divisions: continuous.

ADULT FEMALE BLACK BELTS Lightweight: up to 58kg. Welterweight: over 58kg up to and including 64kg. Middleheavy: over 64kg up to and including 70kg. Light Heavy: over 70kg up to and including 76kg. Heavyweight: over 76kg. Continuous sparring. Weight categories revised for 2026.

ADULT MALE COLOURED BELTS Lightweight: up to 64kg. Welterweight: over 64kg up to and including 72kg. Middleweight: over 72kg up to and including 80kg. Heavyweight: over 80kg. Yellow and Green divisions: point stop. Blue and Red divisions: continuous.

ADULT MALE BLACK BELTS Flyweight: up to 58kg. Lightweight: over 58kg up to and including 64kg. Welterweight: over 64kg up to and including 70kg. Middleweight: over 70kg up to and including 76kg. Light Heavy: over 76kg up to and including 82kg. Heavyweight: over 82kg. Continuous sparring.

EXECUTIVE FEMALE BLACK BELTS Light: up to 60kg. Middle: over 60kg up to and including 70kg. Heavy: over 70kg. Point stop. Weight categories revised for 2026.

EXECUTIVE MALE BLACK BELTS Light: up to 70kg. Middle: over 70kg up to and including 80kg. Heavy: over 80kg. Point stop.
