Junior Instructors, Classroom Assistants & Sparring Assistants

In order to become a Junior Instructor, students will need to have been a Classroom Assistant for at least a year if not more.  They will then be invited to join the next Junior Instructor course.

Selection Criteria

All candidates need to demonstrate all 5 tenets of Taekwondo both in and outside of class; Courtesy, Integrity, Self-Control, Perseverance and Indomitable Spirit.

Candidates are selected based on not just their Taekwondo skills, but also their attitude to other students, parents, officials and instructors.  The highest standards are required at all times. 

 

There will be an assessment on both theory and practical at the end of the course by an external Instructor, usually World Master Nicola Line, 7th Degree Black Belt.​

Junior Instructors need to be:

  • at least 10 years old;

  • a Blue belt or above, and

  • have achieved at least one grade A or above - preferably more.

Blue Belt

Classroom Assistants need to be:

  • at least 8 years old;

  • Preferably Blue belt or above (Adults will be considered from lower belts); and

  • Preferably have achieved at least one grade A or above;

Sparring Assistants need to be:

  • at least 8 years old; and

  • Preferably Blue belt or above (Adults will be considered from lower belts); and

  • Demonstrate a real aptitude for sparring; and

  • Preferably have achieved at least one grade A or above.
